Variants (if any) and number of speakers It is a sister language to the Shabro language which is almost the same, The Shabro people are commonly found in the southern part of the country. We both understand each other, though some vocabularies and tonal has slight difference. The Shabro Language also has has few hundreds speaker.
How is the community organisedThe Mani people are found around the riverine areas. Samu chiefdom is divided into 12 sections; they occupied three sections. Moribaya section having twenty three villages, Makuma section has thirteen villages and Maportolor section with fifteen villages. These three sections are predominantly Mani habitat in Samu chiefdom. Chiefdoms are the subdivision of a district. Kambia district where Samu is has nine chiefdoms.
